Some Inspirational Ideas for Decorating

I made some crosses back before Christmas for a local show and really liked them.  I decided crosses can be sold any time of the year as they are decorative as well as meaningful.  The first cross below is made with Bible pages from a thrift store where the Bible was in pretty rough shape.  Some of the pages are salvageable though and I like the old and new testament mixed together.  The dove in the center of both crosses is made from recycled books as well.  The second cross is from a thrift store hymnal.  Music has always been in my life and I like the constant reminder of those old hymn titles staring back at me.  Both crosses are very inspirational to me in different ways.  Scripture is a constant comfort and a reminder that the Bible is the answer to life's problems.    Often times music speaks when the spoken word does not.  I love these two hanging on my walls and if I'm not careful, could become a "cross" collector.  They are beautiful as well as inspirational.

Check out my Etsy store at www.etsy.com/shop/acornhillhome for some other new additions for Valentines and Easter.  I will be adding new things, hopefully on a weekly basis.  There is a lot of ideas swirling around in my head.  Some may work, some not.  Creating your idea and selling it are two different things---but I love doing it anyway.  As always, I will try anything you want custom made.  New aprons are coming in February.

Time to get back to work after more than a month off.  I did not plan to take that long, but the wonderful birth of our grandson, Christmas, shingles, then a surprise visit from my daughter and grandsons--- well it was pretty hectic.  I love life!!  Even the shingles made me move a little slower and take a reflective look back at this past year and what's to come this year.  Sitting in front of the cozy fire with library books has been enlightening.

Any ideas from you?  You can comment on this board if you have a Google Plus account or you can reach me at acornhillhome@gmail.com.  I would love to hear from you!
